This '64 Deluxe is so clean, near mint, and it sounds incredible!
It's fun to dig into a classic like this and find it virtually untouched. The only change here is the speaker, which is a 1952 Jensen. I was planning on changing it out for an original '64 Oxford, but it just works so well in the amp that I decided to leave it there. The footswitch might not be original, but it is era correct - it just looks a little too worn for me to think it originally belonged with the amp.
The entire circuit is original - everything. This is a good thing for collectors, especially in a first-year example like this. However, I will say that the filter caps should be changed out, and some parts are likely to have drifted and might need to be replaced. For now, I am planning on leaving this to the next owner of the amp. I can replace the filter caps however, should you prefer.
